Description

This the a little video done to show the creation of my image for (DameOdessa's) The-Shredded-Lands contest ... I prepared a video tutorial but the file was huge so ended up with the reduced version ! If anyone has any questions about what I have done here please don't hesitate to note me, I would be happy to explain my process.

The original image The Rising is here ...

The Rising - A Shredded Lands Dragon by NTGreen

Contest info is HERE fav.me/d71h2jx and you can see the entries here in Gallery Contest folder at The-Shredded-Lands :D. GOOD LUCK to everyone ... it is fun to be involved in creating a new world, although (I suspect) DameOdessa has been there a very long time :D

About my Dragon
My dragon is T'aursaphir, a Shredded Lands Water Dragon. If you get to know him well you can call him T'au ... he doesn't stand on ceremony when it comes to names. But I caution you, T'aursaphir doesn't make friends easily so tread lightly! You may have noticed a slight glow around Tau, that is actually steam radiating off him ... Water Dragons will drown you with a deluge of boiling water (you may be burnt before drowned, depending your resistance). So again I say, use caution and tread lightly!

Water Dragons are a more silver tone when young ... with age they turn more of a gold. T'au is reaching an age of wisdom and grace. Their metal is silvery colour Tantalum and their gem Sapphire; Sapphires are generally blue although the very rare Golden Sapphire does exist!

All the stock used in this piece are my own photos. I drew the dragon from scratch except for the scales.
Scales: I used 2 of the seamless textures created by Marqoni and adjusted them quite a bit. The texture file can be found here - fav.me/d4allfs

While this image was created for the contest I have been working on the Dragon for a long time ... he has been through so many variation ...different leg positions, wing shape and angle, tail curvature and tip ... it wasn't until I read about the Dragons in DameOdessa's information on the Shredded Lands that I was inspired to complete him and the background.

It is nice to see T'aursaphir take flight at last!

NOTE: There is a faint watermark on the image (in the sky) ... it is not a mistake. I put it there for protection from copying I just hate making it too obvious :D
