Description
There is a monument hidden in Stanley Park, Vancouver; as a child my sister and I would play there. It consisted of 2 large warrior women flanked by 2 bald eagles ... it was like being in a fantasy world ... surrounded by trees, tucked into a quiet corner of the huge park.
I have been back a couple of times and photographed it ... this is one of my favourites; with the rain dripping down her hand, it is quintessential Vancouver.
I think I will go back again when it is raining ... next time though I take my tripod

This is such an amazing photo that I've featured it in the Photography Weekly - Issue 2
Although I know those long and slender fingers are not real, they really do seem like they will start to move at any moment. There's a lot of potential energy captured in this shot. And it looks so mournful. This makes me quite sad actually.. those raindrops could easily be tears. Really nicely done.
