Literature Text

This is the poem that accompanies my entry
for Mizzd Pirate Contest.

Bad Fortune

In sea witch cove she may be found
It is in skull cave she dwells
And when the moon is full and round
‘Tis the future that she sells

And when you’re gold she has obtained
Death-white bones is what she’ll cast
But ‘ware her telling is not feigned
‘Tis the truth you’ll have at last

She tells it all; the light, the dark
And to this you will be bound
Whether the future’s sweet or stark
‘Tis your fate that she’ll have found

Good fortune can be hard to find
When a pirates life you lead
And the Witch’s sight is oft unkind
‘Tis bad fortune she may read

So if you go some moon filled night
When the tide is running true
The truth she finds may not be bright
‘Tis a knowledge you may rue!

Without the benefit of the following stock the image and poem would not have been possible … Here are the links to the wonderful artist who contributed.
